Use your strengths as Health Services System Configuration Specialist
In this role, you’ll serve as the administrator for system(s) specific to Health Services (e.g., Jiva) and will provide subject matter expertise regarding system functionality and configuration while supporting Health Services’ operational systems. You’ll configure business rules/requirements, including ID/Strat rule sets, business rules, letters, and maintenance of all corresponding documentation. This includes the identification and implementation of enhancements, upgrades and maintenance changes to systems to continuously improve and optimize workflow processes and capabilities. About the Career: The Enterprise Cloud Engineer IV will drive the enhancement of existing patterns and lead the design for new processes and patterns. You will create architectural patterns to verify alignment with code templates and patterns for Cloud Services. You will draft and publish team documentation e.g. process, runbooks, diagrams etc., and coordinate with other Engineer peers to maintain and ensure all is kept up to date and accurate. Through collaboration with Cloud Engineers, Developers, Security and business stakeholders you will optimize code templates and patterns, security, automation, and system performance/availability. You will ensure solutions developed adhere and align with overall architecture standards. What is the Actuarial function in our Finance Division? The Actuarial Department ensures that Wellmark’s products are adequately priced to meet financial goals and reserves are established to cover Wellmark’s unpaid claim liabilities. Actuarial team members create models and perform analyses to support pricing, reserving and forecasting functions. The evolving health insurance environment provides team members opportunities to develop and utilize their actuarial skill set and technical knowledge.
What projects might I support? Although subject to change, examples of projects are included below:
- Conduct experience studies and review of established procedures (i.e. claim trends, rating factors)
- Perform research of premium and product data for competitive analysis
- Assist with annual individual and small group market performance analysis
- Produce ad hoc modeling for impacts of health care reform
- Update large group market rating factors
- Use Federal Actuarial Value (AV) calculator to determine actuarial values for various benefit designs
- Support individual and small group annual and quarterly rate filings, including data collection, setting factors and populating rating templates
