Job Summary

About the Career: Wellmark is looking for a proactive and decisive individual to join our Project Management Team as a Project Manager II! You will deliver results by leading and supporting multiple projects that are medium to high complexity.  You will manage large stakeholder groups for assigned projects. In addition, you will work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve the goals, measurable objectives and deliverables of these projects.  You will also provide mentorship and guidance to Associate Project Managers and/or Project Managers I.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or direct and equivalent work experience
  • 3+ yrs. of proven experience managing multiple projects (medium/high complex)/executed in various methodologies/or phases, while managing scope, schedule and budget
    • Experience in project leadership, including managing technology related projects
  • Innovative critical thinking skills, including industry-wide knowledge and understanding of technology processing systems
  • Proven ability to be proactive in approach
  • Demonstrates a high degree of ownership and commitment to assigned projects; drives projects toward successful completion and holds themselves accountable for project performance
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve project objectives of multiple complex projects
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fundamental project management processes and system development life cycle methodologies
  • Innovative and strategic thinking skills, including industry-wide knowledge and understanding of technology processing systems
  • Proven skills in building relationships and influencing people across the organization to break down barriers and foster collaboration
  • Strong group facilitation skills, negotiation skills and presentation skills demonstrated through successful experience
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate well with multiple levels of the organization
  • Ability to serve as a mentor to other project managers

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 5+ yrs. of demonstrated experience managing multiple projects/executed in various methodologies/or phases 
  • Experience in both a Waterfall and Agile environment 
  • Prior process improvement experience

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

a. Manage and lead multiple projects that are medium to highly complex.Will coordinate and organize the efforts for smallmedium stakeholder groups for assigned BAUs or projects.Influence and manage large stakeholder groups, while managing adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.

b. Utilize the portfolio operating procedures e.g. prioritization, funding, project management methodology, project tracking tools to ensure consistency and efficiency.Provide mentorship and guidance to Associate Project Managers and/or Project Manager I.

c. Using Wellmark Project Management methodologies, lead crossfunctional project teams by taking projects from inception through completion facilitate timeliness and schedule for project completion.

d. Establish and maintain effective communications and partnership with the project business owner, project managers, and Wellmark Technology leadership.

e. Work in tandem with project managers and project leaders to perform project management duties to support the completion of the project through all phases of the project management process, using Wellmarks standard project management methodologies.

f. Demonstrate the key drivers of project management effectiveness meet deadlines, logically solve problems recognize and mitigate risks, align project priorities to organizational strategy, connect project priorities to organizational goals, leverage the talent and skills of right people and tasks, facilitate consensus among stakeholders, objectively evaluate team members, and understand project interdependencies.

g. Support and follow Technology software development lifecycle SDLC, operational procedures and standards to achieve stated results of assigned projects.Utilize the portfolio operating procedures e.g. prioritization, funding, project management methodology, project tracking tools to ensure consistency and efficiency.

h. Other duties as assigned.
