  • Job Summary

    The Administrative Assistant I will provide support for Wellmark's Sioux Falls office. This individual will utilizing independent judgment and organizational skills to provide basic administrative and clerical support to multiple team leaders in carrying out their operational responsibilities and objectives. The incumbent takes actions by following simple instructions and provides support on a number of fronts including but not limited to data entry, scheduling meetings, event preparation, event coordination, travel arrangements, and ordering office supplies.

    Minimum Qualifications Required (all must be met to be considered)

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • One year of experience with the following:
      • Previous administrative, data entry, or clerical experience.
      • Calendar management experience.
      • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products and data entry skills.
      • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
      • Demonstrated multi-tasking skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments.
      • Good organizational skills, including time management.
      • Ability to make decisions by following simple instructions.
      • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced office environment under deadlines.
      • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy.

    Hiring Specifications Preferred

    • Associate's Degree 

    Job Accountabilities

    a. Clerical Support Provide clerical assistance by processing and distributing mail timely, filing paperwork, and maintaining file systems.

    b. Data Entry Support Maintain databases including the entry, basic analysis and the gathering of information to produce reports. Transcribe memos, letters, reports, and other correspondence timely and accurately by operating various computer applications.

    c. Phone Support Provide receptionist duties by answering telephone calls with professionalism and tact, recording appropriate messages, and routing calls timely.

    d. Time Management Schedule meetings as requested. Prepare for meetings by seeking agenda items, distributing agenda, and organizing other meeting materials in a timely manner.

    e. Customer Service Provide support to team members, customers, vendors, stakeholders and employees through friendly, professional, timely and accurate response to their inquiries. Where situations allow provide proactive support to increase customer satisfaction.
