    What’s the Brand Marketing team at Wellmark? We bring the Wellmark brand to life daily for our more than 2 million members across Iowa and South Dakota. Through corporate advertising and sponsorships, graphic design, copywriting and video production, we work creatively and collaboratively to preserve and enhance Wellmark’s reputation as the gold standard in health insurance.


    What projects might I support? Although subject to change, examples of projects include:

    • Collaborate with the Sr. Brand Marketing Manager to comprehensively plan and execute the 10th Annual Grand Blue Mile — the third-largest one-mile race in America and the Midwest’s premier street run for all ages and abilities
    • Develop integrated marketing communications plans and promotional campaigns for Grand Blue Mile to engage internal and external stakeholders and drive event registration
    • Assist in managing PR activities before, during and after Grand Blue Mile, including drafting news releases, writing feature stories and developing social media content
    • Build Grand Blue Mile editorial calendar across various paid, earned, shared and owned media, and partner with graphic design to produce visual communications
    • Attend all internal/external planning meetings; manage meeting agendas and action items
    • Oversee logistics; recruit volunteers, manage food & beverage, develop event timelines
    • Maintain event website; deploy updates, contribute content, and respond to inquiries
    • Support corporate advertising initiatives; attend weekly status meetings and regularly interface with Wellmark’s brand agency of record to manage production and/or processes as necessary
    • Perform other brand marketing duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications Required (all must be met to be considered)

    • Current college junior or senior (including Dec 2018 graduate) pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Event Management or related field
    • Experience planning events and writing corresponding promotional communications
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; working knowledge of WordPress helpful
    • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated self-starter
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven ability to think critically and take initiative
    • Must be available April 22 – 23 for special event
