    About the Program: The Technology Associate Program is a two year rotation program through Wellmark’s technology divisions. Wellmark believes in developing top talent with skills in multiple core technology areas. The Technology Associate Program will give you access and hands on work in multiple areas of corporate technology. Throughout each or your rotations, you will be responsible for delivering technical deliverables as directed by Wellmark Technology leadership. You will take ownership in the development of critical skills and make a measureable impact by completing daily work and leading and contributing to projects within Wellmark Technology. You will interface and collaborate with a variety of areas in our division, including but not limited to application delivery, application operations, data management, quality and engineering, cloud services and information security.

    Program Details:

    • Start Date will be solidified in the Spring, however it will either be the date of Tuesday May 28th, 2019 or Monday June 10th, 2019
    • Up to 4 Program Spots Available 
    • 2 year program made up of four, 6 month rotations to enable you to deliver value to Wellmark while gaining relevant career experiences within a technology division.
    • Rotations will be based on discussions with your rotation leaders and program sponsor. They will be individualized based on your skill set, career goals and needs for Wellmark Technology.  Rotation options may include:  
      • API / Services Development
      • Application Production Support
      • Business Analysis
      • Cloud Support & Engineering 
      • Data Analytics & Mapping
      • Data Transformation Development
      • Enterprise Application Development 
      • Front End  Development
      • Information Security 
      • Methodology / Process
      • Project Management / Portfolio Management
      • Quality & Testing

    • At the end of the 2 year program, subject to all standard employment practices at Wellmark, you will have a role within the Technology division that balances your career preferences and the needs of the Wellmark Technology division at that time.

    • Educational assistance: Wellmark’s educational assistance includes two benefits. Total reimbursement for both benefits will not exceed $15,000 in a calendar year.
      • Student Loan Repayment benefit: which will reimburse full-time employees up to $5,000 for qualified college student loans for the employee’s education that resulted in a degree for credit-bearing classes from an accredited learning institution annually. Loans must be in the employee’s name from a federal or state licensed financial institution or through a student loan program. A waiting period applies to the Student Loan Repayment benefit. 
      • Tuition Plus benefit: which will reimburse full-time employees up to $15,000 annually for approved college transferrable credit classes, books and fees completed at an accredited learning institution during your employment.

    Minimum Qualifications Required (all must be met to be considered)

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical degree program (e.g. Computer Science, MIS or relevant business degrees)
    • 2018 graduates or anticipated May 2019 graduates, only
    • Previous Experience
      • <1 year of relevant internship experience OR previous leadership/mentorship experience in an academic, professional or volunteer setting


      • Experience driving solutions to support Wellmark business initiatives (e.g. testing, business analysis, development, cloud service support, etc)
    • Self-Starter who takes a proactive approach to learning and continual development
    • Proven experience managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines
    • Effective planning and organizational skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams
    • Ability to come up with creative solutions to address problems


    Hiring Specifications Preferred

    • Previous technology internship experience
    • 3.0 GPA or higher, on a 4.0 scale

    Job Accountabilities

    a. Application Delivery may work with application delivery/other Wellmark Technology stakeholders in the delivery, maintenance, development and support of software applications for Wellmark business solutions. Will be responsible for developing programming logic to support delivered solutions.

    b. Application Operations may assist and work with Technology stakeholders, in the management and technical troubleshooting of multiple applications in support of Wellmark's application systems.

    c. Architecture may work with Solution Architects in the development of architectural designs, planning, and developing of technical solutions. Support the development of architecture models and technical standards that enable the transition of Wellmark's systems from current state to future requirements. Collaborate with Lead Architect for assigned domain, business systems analyst and other stakeholders to provide insight/ direction regarding process improvements. Will be responsible for developing and delivering structured architectural documents.

    d. Cloud Services/Information Security may provide ongoing support and maintenance of enterprisewide applications and policies. Work under the direction of experienced Engineers/Analysts to maintain and upgrade cloud and security solutions. Evaluate, test and coordinate information security policies, procedures and systems.

    e. Business Analysis may collaborate with stakeholders and other members to analyze, model, and document detailed requirements by using a variety of techniques, understanding business processes, alignment, and technology for projects of limited scope, size, and complexity. Will be responsible for delivering technical requirement documentation.

    f. Enterprise Portfolio/Project Management may coordinate project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope to achieve stated results of assigned projects. Utilize the portfolio operating procedures e.g. prioritization, funding, project management methodology, project tracking tools to ensure consistency and efficiency. May assist other project managers with project administration and execution of deliverables.

    g. Methodology/Governance/Process may assist in the implementation and execution of a methodology plan including training on the adoption of the defined methodologies. Educate stakeholders on standards and governance protocols.

    h. Testing Management may define test cases and assist in the planning and management of testing systems to ensure quality outcomes are met for projects and maintenance.

    i. Support and adhere to Wellmark software development life-cycle SDLC, operational procedures and development and security standards by following required processes.

    j. Other duties as assigned.
