  • Job Summary

    What's the role? We're looking for someone who has a passion for large data sets and analyzing these sets to gain insights and create efficienies to better meet our customer's needs. This role is specific to our speech analytics intiatives in which you will provide integrated comprehensive reporting, consultative, and analytical expertise to internal and external stakeholders while adhering to established data governance standards and processes. Provide complete, accurate, and timely information to drive continuous improvement. In collaboration with other Business analytics team staff, perform analysis, summarize results and develop conclusions for project teams, leaders, and internal and external stakeholders. Lead and participate in the development and maintenance of business intelligence tools and applications and standard reporting business rules that drive decision making efforts for all internal and external stakeholders.

     

    What does it take to make the cut? At least one year of experience analyzing data, presenting conclusions, and reccomending solutions based on the insights as well as developing reports to better analyze the data. Ideal candidates must have strong communication skills to be successful in this role; you will be expected to interact with various leaders throughout the organization as well as a plethora of stakeholders throughout the business.

    Minimum Qualifications Required (all must be met to be considered)

    • Associate's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience 
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in a role pulling reports and analyzing data
    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult with stakeholders on areas of expertise
    • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence and build relationships of trust 
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to make recommendations by translating data analysis insights into decisions and actions
    • Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to develop proactive solutions 
    • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to learn new systems quickly

     

    Hiring Specifications Preferred

    • Bachelor's Degree in related field 
    • Advanced degree with training in Analysis, Statistics, or related field
    • Prior experience using statistical programming tools for advanced analysis and complex data integration

     

    Job Accountabilities

    a. Extract, analyze and interpret data using business intelligence tools to support the initiatives of the Business Analytics team. Support the development and maintenance of data mining tools and applications, and standard reporting business rules that drive decision making efforts for all internal and external stakeholders.

    b. Contribute through conversations and interact with internal stakeholders to understand data requests and requirements by guiding stakeholders in identifying reporting objectives and develop intelligence packaging to meet reporting needs. When applicable, be sensitive to the relationships with representatives of large employer groups, the provider community and vendors.

    c. Query financial and health data including medical data to determine health care expenditures, medical and economic outcomes, and cost containment.

    d. Demonstrate a good understanding of Wellmarks data systems, applications, processes and functions to analyze data from multiple sources efficiently, and effectively show the value in reports to stakeholders. Monitor and maintain the integrity of the data and business intelligence system infrastructures.

    e. Collaborate with the business analytics teams in meeting the reporting needs of stakeholders by project participation and data analysis as well as a general understanding of voice of the customer feedback.

    f. Serve as an effective member of multidisciplinary teams within the Business analytics team and other Wellmark departments. Participate in process improvement activities to meet evolving reporting and analytics requirements.
