    About the Role: Our content marketing consultant will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of elements to support Wellmark’s content marketing strategy—they’re a storyteller and will work much like a journalist works in finding and telling the right stories to meet audience expectations while also supporting business goals. This individual is expected to deliver work under some supervision and guidance, consulting across various teams within Wellmark to determine appropriate stories to tell, communication strategies to be used and to facilitate creative delivery of assigned projects. Ideal candidates are energized by the opportunity to make sense of and explain complex topics.     Minimum Qualifications Required (all must be met to be considered)

    • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, or related field, or direct and applicable work experience.
    • 1+ year of marketing, communications or related experience, including:
      • A focus on content writing and editing.
      • Project management experience. Ability to support multiple cross-functional projects.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce creative, engaging content that meets business/stakeholder and customer needs.
    • Effective consulting skills and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to develop relationships of collaboration and trust.
    • Proactive self-starter with strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills. Proven ability to thrive in a team environment and drive results through collaboration.
    • Ability to identify creative, innovative solutions that help support and achieve strategic goals.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, such as Word or PowerPoint, and other software applications.

    Hiring Specifications Preferred

    • Bachelor’s Degree.
    • 3-5 years of related experience.
    • Prior marketing communications experience in a publishing company, corporation or agency.
    • Prior experience writing sales or employer content.
    • Prior experience in a content management system.

    Job Accountabilities

    a. Consults with the Content Marketing Manager and Team Leader on the development of the content marketing strategy for assigned audience in support of Wellmark business goals and audiences content needs.

    b. In collaboration with the Content Marketing Manager and Team Leader, maintain an editorial calendar for assigned publications.

    c. Create, edit, and manage the production of assigned content, regardless of distribution channel, that is consistent with the Wellmarks brand, voice and tone. Write clear, concise, resultsoriented copy for a variety of communication mediums. Proofread all copy/content thoroughly and edit material in accordance with Wellmark and AP style manuals. Also serves as factchecker for content and ensures proper use of licensed content where applicable.

    d. Collaborate with creative and digital teams to produce and distribute content.

    e. Identify appropriate indicators that measure success of the content strategy. Track metrics and provide consultation based on those metrics to help guide future strategies.

    f. Demonstrate understanding of Wellmark business processes and apply that knowledge to content marketing strategies and tactics.

    g. Must comply with Iowa and South Dakota insurance regulations, NCQA regulations, and any other applicable regulatory authority. Coordinate production and timely delivery of elements of the content marketing strategy, following document workflow, production cycles and approval processes. Maintain detailed project and tracking documentation.
