Business Systems Analyst

About the career: Wellmark is currently recruiting for a Business Systems Analyst to join our App Delivery team supporting our Operations applications! In this role, you will work with the business and technology areas to understand business functions, processes, challenges, opportunities, and systems impacted. You will elicit, analyze, model and document requirements for cross-functional initiatives and validate that solutions meet the overall business need. You will collaborate with stakeholders on projects of varying scope, size, and complexity to ensure alignment to business objectives. You may also be called upon to assist with testing functions and to support production maintenance activities by researching and resolving issues as appropriate. Individuals in this role often work under the guidance of more experienced colleagues on larger efforts.

Associates Degree in related field or direct and applicable work experience

• Minimum 1 year experience:
  • In business analysis, including demonstrated experience eliciting detailed business requirements
  • In systems analysis, including documentation and capability framework
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to translate technical requirements to non-technical audiences and vice versa
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and develop relationships of trust
• Strong collaboration skills, with the flexibility to adapt to different stakeholders

 

Bachelor’s Degree in related field

• Experience using Team Foundation Server (TFS)
• 3+ years of experience in business and systems analysis
• Professional Certifications (e.g. Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA))

a. Responsible for the execution of projects of varying scope, size, and complexity for specific business areas and provide support to Technology partners on enterprisewide engagements.

b. Work with Wellmark stakeholders to define and develop technical solutions. Ensure the correct stakeholders are actively participating and collaborate with Technology partners and stakeholders to clarify understanding of high level business needs and requirements.

c. Elicit, analyze, model, and document detailed requirements by using a variety of elicitation techniques, understanding business processes, alignment, and technology solutions.

d. Validate requirements with stakeholders and the project team by communicating and presenting requirements artifacts, models, and deliverables appropriate to stakeholder needs for projects of varying scope, size, and complexity.

e. Manage requirements and facilitate requirements change decisions by using traceability tools and techniques, prioritization techniques, approval processes, and requirements change management processes.

f. Adhere to software development lifecycle SDLC, operational procedures, project management methodologies in performing business systems analysis.

g. Perform production support of assigned applications by researching, resourcing and resolving issues and coordinating the implementation of maintenance requests. May assist and/or interface in testing functions as appropriate.
