As a Wellmark Talent Acquisition Consultant you will develop and utilize a keen understanding of Wellmark's strategic business initiatives and leverage your knowledge of the internal/external market for talent to partner with business leaders in providing solutions that support on-going talent acquisition strategies. You will collaborate with HR Business Partners and other HR colleagues to provide strategic consultation; including the identification of talent acquisition strategies that align with both the company's overall business objectives and unique needs for talent.  You'll then be responsible for the successful implementation of talent acquisition strategies to proactively source, recruit and assess a highly qualified and diverse pool of candidates for a variety of roles, all while providing on-going consulting to your stakeholders in the process.

Minimum Qualifications Required (all must be met to be considered)

HS or GED required; AA/AS degree preferred


4+ years of relevant work experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience conducting recruiting related activities (i.e. sourcing/attracting, screening, assessing talent - obtained through corporate human resources, staffing/consulting agency or similar work experience)
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in consulting with business stakeholders (conducting needs analysis, defining requirements, recommending solutions, influencing decisions)
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience applying Human Resources principals to daily work; knowledge of AAP/EEO/OFCCP regulations as they relate to recruiting preferred 
  • Demonstrated communication and relationship management skills; demonstrated ability to build, maintain and leverage business relationships and consultation skills to drive results
  • Effective problem solving, time management and privatization skills; demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities 
  • Technical aptitude; knowledge of MS Office suite required, prior experience with an ATS (applicant tracking system) preferred

Hiring Specifications Preferred

  • Proven corporate recruiting experience; experience with Data Analytics or other similarly complex technical roles preferred
  • Extensive prospecting experience including leveraging networks and strategic relationships to identify diverse, passive talent
  • Experience in innovative marketing techniques such as social media

Job Accountabilities

a. Collaborate with HR Business Partners, HR colleagues and Hiring Leaders to provide subject matter expertise specific to sourcing, attracting, securing and in the retention of top talent. Ensure the implementation of strategic talent acquisition plans for assigned divisions.

b. Consult with hiring leaders on an ongoing basis reviewing their recruitment strategies for both present and future staffing needs.

c. Create or update the performance profile and collaborate with Compensation Consultants and/or Business Partners to update job descriptions as necessary. Provides guidance to hiring leader on effective sourcing options and the overall talent acquisition process including expectations of the hiring leader.

d. Serves as a source for active and passive candidates utilizing various sources including proactive networking, career fairs, internet advertising/data mining and other marketing avenues. Maintains a proactive candidate pipeline for key positions.

e. Evaluate candidate experiences through resume screening and the interviewing process ensuring a presentation of a highly qualified/diverse candidate pool to hiring leaders. Ensures candidate pool aligns with expectations as determined in the selection criteria and minimum qualifications per the job description.

f. Provides education and guidance to hiring leaders on the assessment process including interviewing, work samples and hiring documentation. Serves as an authority on the topic of assessment and selection, providing tools and support throughout this process.

g. Consults with hiring leader after department interviews to provide support in selecting the top candidate and conducts data analysis to provide offer recommendations. Delivers offers and conducts negotiations if necessary.

h. Acts as an advocate for qualified candidates to ensure fit with position and division they are considering. Creates transparency in the recruitment process so candidates have all information necessary to make informed decisions.

i. Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to recruitment practices, including but not limited to, completion of application, equal employment opportunity and affirmative action, background check process, and record retention.

j. Retains ownership over assigned requisitions, ensuring accurate data is captured and maintained in applicant tracking system on all candidates and positions. Supports the reporting capabilities associated with Talent Acquisition team through proactively identifying process/reporting improvement opportunities.
