Job Summary

About the Career:   Wellmark is currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our Program Management Team!  This position will focus on leading projects to migrate Wellmark business to a new core administrative system and operationalize and optimize functionality of the system.  In this role you will deliver results by leading and supporting multiple tactical, projects of moderate to high scope complexity and the projects will involve one or multiple cross functional areas. You will also provide Project Management services to ensure business processes and technology solutions align with business objectives. You will work collaboratively across Wellmark Technology and business unit to achieve the stated objectives, measurable goals, and deliverables of these projects.

Minimum Qualifications Required (all must be met to be considered)

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or direct and equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience:
    • Experience in project leadership, including managing technology related projects
    • Experience managing multiple projects/executed in various methodologies/or phases. 
    • Knowledge/awareness of different methodologies. 
  • Proven ability to be a proactive in approach
  • Demonstrates a high degree of ownership and commitment to assigned projects; negotiates the definition of project success with business owners, and hold themselves accountable for project performance
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve business objectives of multiple complex projects
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various project management, process improvement and system development life cycle methodologies
  • Innovative and strategic thinking skills, including industry-wide knowledge and understanding of technology processing systems.
  • Proven skills in building relationships and influencing people across the organization to break down barriers and foster collaboration
  • Group facilitation skills, negotiation  skills and presentation skills demonstrated through successful experience
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate well with multiple levels of the organization

Hiring Specifications Preferred

 

  •  Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 2+ yrs. of demonstrated experience managing multiple projects/executed in various methodologies/or phases. 
  • Prior experience in the Healthcare industry
  • Prior experience using agile and waterfall project management methodologies

Job Accountabilities

a. Demonstrate the key drivers of project management effectiveness meet deadlines, logically solve problems recognize and mitigate risks, align project priorities to organizational strategy, connect project priorities to organizational goals, leverage the talent and skills of right people and tasks, facilitate consensus among stakeholders, objectively evaluate team members, and understand project interdependencies.

b. Using Wellmark Project Management methodologies, lead and support crossfunctional project teams who take project from inception through completion facilitate timeliness and schedule for project completion.

c. Establish and maintain effective partnership with the project business owner and BTS leadership. Practice sound relationship management with business and BTS project team members and stakeholders by demonstrating key techniques in team management.

d. Collaborate with project teams to implement and propose solutions within the scope of own expertise while fully leveraging the expertise of BTS team members serving the project. Identify, monitor and communicate critical business metrics to ensure project execution success.

e. Support and follow BTS software development lifecycle SDLC, operational procedures and standards to achieve stated results of assigned projects.

f. Utilize the portfolio operating procedures e.g. prioritization, funding, project management methodology, project tracking tools to ensure consistency and efficiency.

g. Other duties as assigned.
