What’s Building Operations? Among other things, our team is accountable for ensuring the continuity of Wellmark by preventing events, where possible, that might disrupt business operations and services, and to minimize the impact of any unavoidable disruption. 


What projects might I support? In general, you’ll gain knowledge about Wellmark's Business Continuity processes, Building Operations systems and corporate travel. Although subject to change, examples of projects are included below:

  • Ongoing support for Business Continuity Planning meetings; taking minutes, participating in Business Impact Analysis sessions, uploading data/information into Fusion Framework system, etc.
  • Assisting in the planning and facilitation of Emergency Operations Center and Trailer exercises including coordination of events, communication and PowerPoint presentations
  • Provide support to the Senior Travel Coordinator in the development of reports and executive summaries of travel/parking related activities for Senior Leadership consumption 
  • Participate in system upgrades including documentation of functionality, communication and training  
  • Support the property services group in special projects

This internship will start in May of 2018.

Minimum Qualifications Required (all must be met to be considered)

To be considered, candidates must be a current Junior or Senior student pursing a Bachelor’s degree studying Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business or related program and have:

  • Demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft office products (specifically PowerPoint and Excel); ability and desire to learn new systems quickly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including demonstrated presentation and facilitations skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Professional experience in an office work environment, preferably in communications
