Looking to intern as a BSA in our Technology division? As technology is ever changing, at Wellmark we are continuously working to stay at the forefront of providing innovative and new technologies to our members externally and internally. Wellmark is looking to hire developer interns across our Technology division to contribute and learn how our technologies are modernizing how we do business.

 

What projects might I support? Although subject to change, examples of projects you will be contributing to include:

  • Sell & Renew Platform – This is a new User Interface for our Agents to sell and renew policies. It will become Wellmark’s new Agent front end and eventually process and renew all Wellmark policies. It is being written leveraging multiple new technologies and will be hosted in the AWS cloud (AWS = Amazon Web Services). This is cutting edge technology for our industry and definitely an exciting opportunity!
  • eCredentialing – Our eCredentialing system is the first of its kind in our industry and just went live in 2016. This system allows all of our providers (Dr’s, hospitals & clinics, etc.) to enroll and manage their accounts online. This is a relatively complex process and this tool manages it all very efficiently.
  • Employer Portal – This system is used by our largest clients to manage changes to the health benefits supplied by Wellmark for their employees. This system went live in 2017 and is leveraging the same cutting edge technology being utilized by the Sell & Renew Platform.

This internship will start in May of 2018.

Minimum Qualifications Required (all must be met to be considered)

To be considered, candidates must be a current junior or senior level student studying MIS, CIS, business or related program and have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented, ability to coordinate and facilitate meetings

Hiring Specifications Preferred

  • Previous internship or work experience in a corporate office environment
