What’s Process Excellence? Process Excellence consists of a team of highly-trained consultants skilled in strategic thinking, facilitation, data analysis, and logical problem-solving.  Through partnership with the business at all levels, Process Excellence helps Wellmark achieve strategic goals using a process-focused approach.  This applies to continuous improvement, new process design, or transformation of processes to efficiently and effectively align with the needs of our customer and business environment.

 

What projects might I support? In general, you’ll gain knowledge about Wellmark's Process Excellence processes and solutions focusing on quality, delivery, and cost, and are evidenced by outcomes. Although subject to change, examples of projects are included below:

  •  Conduct side by side process evaluations identifying efficiency gains and creating productivity models, leveraging lean and  six sigma tools
  •  Data collection and analysis (create and deploy data collection plans and analyze the data via Excel)
  •  Document processes by process mapping and other applications to identify opportunities for improvements

This internship will start in May of 2018.

Minimum Qualifications Required (all must be met to be considered)

To be considered, candidates must be a current junior, senior, or graduate student studying Business, Supply Chain Management, Management, Industrial Engineering, or related program and have:

 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with the business areas
  • Proven problem solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative
