a. Concept, develop and compile internal and external data to analyze the performance of Wellmark market segments. Support the Segment Performance initiatives by analyzing trends and profitability measures by market segment, distribution channels, buyer portfolio, benefit trends and financial performance within business segments to proactively provide insights, recommendations, and future-state initiatives to the Product and Segment Performance teams.
b. Participate in the formulation of strategic recommendations to support Segment Performance initiatives by conducting quantitative and qualitative research including needs assessment, conceptualization, proposal development and data analysis and reporting. Mentor and coach team analysts on methods, measurements, and provide instruction on best practices to achieve Market Insights goals.
c. Lead the enrollment forecasting process to effectively measure future enrollment potential within the market segments. Perform enrollment forecasting functions including model development, trends, and analyze environmental circumstances that effect enrollment. Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand and assist with developing financial impacts from sales and new enrollment.
d. Work with key stakeholders to identify and execute on the market segment strategies. Perform complete reviews of key performance indicators, measures, and product and marketing goals to provide direction on how to achieve success. Guide decision making on successful performance of the market segment and establish market segment goals that align to corporate performance.
e. Collaborate cross-functionally with Wellmark stakeholders to gain valuable insights regarding the reception of Wellmark products, distribution channels and sales. Monitor and report progress toward achievement of corporate satisfaction measures – member, employer, provider and producer/agent. Lead cross functional teams to recommend appropriate course of action for the business to achieve success within the market segments. Mentor and coach team analysts on the effective delivery of materials, measures and presentation to key stakeholders.
f. Partner with Finance, Business Development and Health and Care Management and lead efforts on fundamental changes within the health care and insurance landscape. Develop segmentation strategies to initiate change within the business, measure progress, outline courses of action, and achieve success within the market segments.
g. Participate in and/or lead the annual planning with the Segment Performance teams to identify any data needed to support key initiatives.
h. Consult and provide guidance on actionable market research and recommendations. Mentor team members on best in class business practices; provide informal guidance and/or training regarding market insight analytics.
i. Other duties as assigned.
