Job Summary

Our Market Insights Analyst will support market segment initiatives by compiling, analyzing and presenting information to drive business decisions. This individual will conduct analysis including needs assessment, conceptualization, proposal development, data mining, and analysis and reporting, including the formulation of recommendations to support market segment initiatives. In addition, this individual will develop visual representations of core data analysis and build description to present to key stakeholders within the business.

Minimum Qualifications Required (all must be met to be considered)

  • Bachelor’s Degree or direct and applicable work experience.
  • 1+ year of experience independently collecting and analyzing data, conducting research, and developing actionable results that support stakeholder decision making in an Insurance, Financial Services, or similar corporate environment. Must be able to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability collect, summarize, review data, develop recommendations, and relay the “story” to stakeholders. Ability to independently conduct research as appropriate.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to express complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • The ability to interact with senior leadership and key decision makers.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Flexible and adaptable to change.

Hiring Specifications Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience in Market Analysis, Competitive Intelligence, Data or Financial Analysis, or related role.
  • Experience with corporate financial measurement and reporting.

Job Accountabilities

a. Concept, develop and compile internal and external data to analyze the performance of Wellmark market segments. Support the Segment Performance initiatives by analyzing trends and profitability measures by market segment, distribution channels, buyer portfolio, benefit trends and financial performance within business segments to proactively provide insights, recommendations, and future-state initiatives to the Product and Segment Performance teams.

b. Participate in the formulation of strategic recommendations to support Segment Performance initiatives by conducting quantitative and qualitative research including needs assessment, conceptualization, proposal development and data analysis and reporting.

c. Perform enrollment forecasting functions including model development, trends, and analyze environmental circumstances that effect enrollment. Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand and assist with developing financial impacts from sales and new enrollment.

d. Work with key stakeholders to identify and execute on the market segment strategies. Perform complete reviews of key performance indicators, measures, and product and marketing goals to provide direction on how to achieve success.

e. Collaborate cross-functionally with Wellmark stakeholders to gain valuable insights regarding the reception of Wellmark products, distribution channels and sales. Monitor and report progress toward achievement of corporate satisfaction measures – member, employer, provider and producer/agent. Work with cross functional teams to recommend appropriate course of action for improvement.

f. Participate in annual planning with the Segment Performance teams to identify any data needed to support key initiatives.
